I got involved because the opportunity to paint from life is so important to artists. I love the human face – it’s a look into their soul. And I love painting older people. It’s a lot of fun to paint their lines; it’s their life. Connecting with other artists, critiquing – to have a tribe of artists, of people who get you and share in your struggles – that’s what I’m doing it for. It’s also a way to serve the community and bring awareness to people, to tell their story and to make a fuss about people. You are beautiful. It’s a loop we’re in – this exchange of energy of another human being. Also, I’m getting training and producing something the community will see and perhaps be inspired by. In the age of AI and screens it shows there are still people who do things with their hands.
