The Looking Back, Seeing Now exhibition is about remembering, honoring, and celebrating a descendant community whose presence continues to shape Fluvanna County. Through portraiture and storytelling, we recognize not just what came before, but what continues today.

Join us February 2nd from 2–5 PM at Fluvanna County Library to be part of this inaugural moment.

Featuring artwork from local artists across Central Virginia, each piece reflects the lives, legacies, and personal histories of a descendant community in Fluvanna County.

Looking Back, Seeing Now is also part of a broader effort linked to the restoration of Oak Hill Cemetery, ensuring that history is not only remembered but actively honored.

This event is a moment of reflection, creativity, and connection for this project that has been 2 years in the making, an opportunity to step into stories that continue to shape our home today.

We are actively seeking ways to expand and continue this project. Please reach out if you have ideas, suggestions, or would like to participate.

In collaboration with the Fluvanna County Historical Society, this exhibition highlights the connections between past and present, preserving stories, lives, and accomplishments.
